A family of Great Horned Owls, affectionately referred to as ‘the Hoots’, has moved into a nest on my driveway. Often at night, one of the owls will sit high atop a Norway Pine, a perfect silhouette with ear tufts/horns. I was an amazing inspiration that had to become a painting. 

The twist is that Mr. Hoots is holding onto a Tootsie Pop. If you remember the ad campaign,
“Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take…
“One… Two…ah, Three.”
I loved those commercials growing up, and it’s the perfect pairing to Mr. Owl.
