Snowboard is exhilarating to say the least. I'm not the best rider in the world-- I could never do a Front Double Cork 10, or even a 360 in the air.
but. . . I could rock a low-flying Method Air. Kick your legs behind you, grab your board, throw your other hand in the air, and you're awesome!
This print is a tribute to all riders and what it feels like to ride down your favorite slope regardless if it's a mountain with huge pow-pow cliff drops,
or it's a hill in your backyard. Get rad!
This image was drawn from a photo of my friend Eric Thompson (ET) throwing a Method Air in Colorado. This captures ET in his happy place; riding free, catching a good line, and soaring off of cliffs into the abyss of powder. Im sad to say we lost Eric in June of 2014.
Eric was an inspiration in my life for all things music, lifestyle, and extreme sports. My love of Iron Maiden came from the amazing posters and music blasting from a boombox in his bedroom. I got a job at the local bike shop because ET did. He earned enough money and got the a Haro Freestyle Master BMX bike, and damn, that thing was the coolest. Of course I got all fired up on BMX bikes because that.
It always sounds silly to say... but ET touched many lives. He was fun, cool, had amazing style, and whether or not he knew it, had great influence. Eric had troubles with mental illness and did not get help in time before taking his own life. Leaving behind so many family and friends, we all miss him very much— and hope that other people who may feel the same hopelessness get the help they need.
