A Residential Mural on Lake Bde Maka Ska

I painted this mural at a beautiful house on Lake Bde Maka Ska. The family wanted to "bring the outdoors in" and depict the iconic lake, the Minneapolis skyline, a family of loons, and some bright daisies. 

This mural used multiple shades and tints of blue. I incorporated the number three in as many places as possible to represent the family, the couple and their daughter (three daisies, three loons, etc.).  

Something I love about paintings residential murals is that I get to make a piece of art that represents the people who live with it. I ask questions about what the residents want to represent, what story they want to tell through images. 

I get the opportunity to depict their answers in my style while bringing their vision to life. Oftentimes my clients come up with amazing ideas and concepts. I get to add my twist and the outcome is always rewarding.
